Michigan Street Project PIM

(Prairie Du Chien, WI – April 26th 2018) – The City of Prairie du Chien will host a Public
Information Meeting on Thursday April 26th to review the upcoming North Michigan street project. The meeting will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Community Room of City Hall. Representatives from the City and Vierbicher, the City’s consultant on the project, will be in attendance.

The project involves the reconstruction of North Michigan Street from Blackhawk Avenue to Perry Street, Haydn Street from Michigan Street to Illinois Street, and Park Street from
Michigan Street to Illinois Street.

The project will consist of the following:
 Reconstruction of 2,630 lineal feet of a 32 foot wide street including concrete curb
and gutter, concrete driveway aprons, and 5 foot sidewalk
 Reconstruction of 2,476 lineal feet of sanitary sewer including manholes and laterals
(to the street right-of-way)
 Reconstruction of 2,916 lineal feet of water main including hydrants, valves and
services (to the street right-of-way)
 Reconstruction of 2,616 lineal feet of storm sewer including manholes and curb inlets

The project also includes 13th Street and 14th Street Drainage Improvements. The drainage
improvements include extending storm sewer from the Prairie Street and Marquette Road
intersection to 13th Street and 14th Street and installing new curb inlets.
Work is scheduled to begin in June. The contractor for the project is H. James and Sons
Construction.
